Airport logistics Siemens operates warehouse and conveyor systems in one of the world’s largest cargo terminals in Hong Kong

Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics (SPPAL) has received an order for the continued operation and maintenance of the cargo handling system of the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal in Hong Kong. The extension of the service agreement by several years is based on jointly defined key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensures the highest standards throughout the terminal. With a floor area of about 240,000 square meters – the size of almost 34 soccer fields – it is one of the world’s largest cargo terminals.

The service agreement covers the entire cargo handling system that Siemens had installed at the terminal in 2013. In addition to the support of ongoing operations, Siemens places great importance on preventive maintenance to avoid system downtime and service interruptions. Should faults occur despite the preventive measures, the qualified Siemens team is on site for quick and easy troubleshooting. The software system is remotely monitored and serviced. In this manner, Siemens ensures smooth and efficient operations of the huge cargo handling system.
