Airport logistics Siemens presents innovative airport portfolio at the Passenger Terminal Expo

From state-of-the-art baggage handling systems and intelligent airport software all the way to a comprehensive service offering: Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics will present its complete portfolio for airports and airlines at this year's Passenger Terminal Expo. The Siemens team is looking forward to receiving visitors from the industry in Hall 8, Stand 7020 of the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre from March 14 through16, 2017.

The number one topic of the trade fair is the innovative tray technology which Siemens supplies for major airports with large number of transfer passengers. A major highlight will be a live exhibit featuring our new VarioTray stacker. With a peak throughput rate of 1,200 trays per hour, the system efficiently stacks trays that are not needed. This means that empty trays can be stored intermediately in designated areas to save energy during off-peak periods rather than leaving them to go round the system. Thanks to its compact design, this unique stacking device helps to make the best possible use of valuable airport space.

Further highlights at the Siemens stand include:

  • Comprehensive baggage handling solutions – in addition to the new VarioTray system, Siemens meets all customer requirements, from check-in and belt conveyor systems to efficient sorting and baggage reclaim facilities
  • Airport and cargo software – innovative solutions such as the new Planning, Prediction & Control software for greater transparency and efficiency in increasingly complex business processes
  • Maintenance 4.0 – predictive and preventive maintenance services, for example based on intelligent cloud-based solutions

The Siemens team is looking forward to meeting with customers and partners at the Passenger Terminal Expo to trade expertise and discuss the needs of the aviation industry.
