Siemens Logistics has received an order to supply baggage handling and sorting technology for the Terminal 1 extension at Kunming Changshui International Airport in China. The order includes delivery of a highly developed early bag store (EBS) and the latest generation of the VarioTray technology.

Siemens Logistics has been awarded a comprehensive order to modernize and optimize the baggage handling system at Spain’s Palma de Mallorca Airport. With this project, Siemens Logistics will in particular help airport operator Aena (Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea) to ensure that international specifications for baggage screening are met to the highest degree.
Siemens Logistics offers airports and airlines a comprehensive portfolio of innovative software solutions to optimize processes. This includes Service 4.0 for the predictive maintenance of baggage handling systems. Forecasts are generated from collected data, and preventive measures are taken to improve system reliability and avoid unscheduled downtimes.
Siemens Logistics has further extended and enhanced its software portfolio for parcel handling. The new Hub Performance Booster is intelligent software for optimized management of day-to-day parcel operations. Thanks to the real-time collection of operational data, the software automatically generates recommendations for operators and ensures the timeliest intervention possible.
