Airport logistics Siemens presents its extensive airport portfolio at inter airport China
From innovative solutions for handling flight baggage and air cargo to airport software and comprehensive service options: Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics is presenting its entire portfolio for airports and airlines at inter airport China in Beijing. The Siemens team is expecting the experts at Stand 600 in the German Pavilion at the China International Exhibition Center from September 12-14, 2016.
Siemens presents two particular highlights this year. Firstly, visitors can experience the new VarioTray “live”. The product is both lighter and screenable, enabling the integration of modern X-ray machines into Siemens high-speed systems and significantly improving baggage handling.
The second “live” exhibit is the innovative tilt-tray sorter (VarioSort TTS 1100). With a peak throughput rate of more than 9,000 baggage items per hour, the new sorter is the perfect choice for the fast, efficient handling of large baggage volumes. The solution is based on the well-established VarioSort product family and is one example how SPPAL brings together the decade-long know-how from the business fields of mail and parcel automation as well as baggage and cargo handling and applies it optimally for the benefit of the customer.
Other key topics at this year's fair will include:
- Planning, Prediction & Control System – a software application for proactively optimizing and controlling hub processes, as well as improving capacities and use of resources
- Dock & Yard Management – a software application for systematic planning and control of transport processes in air cargo terminals
- AX4 – the cloud-based software solution from SPPAL’s subsidiary AXIT for complete transparency of data and processes in logistics chains
Siemens has already carried out a series of major airport projects in China. The company is currently implementing an innovative and flexible baggage handling system at Guangzhou airport which combines tray technology, conveyor belts and intelligent software applications. At the same time, Siemens is modernizing and expanding the baggage handling system at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.
Among the most recent additional successes are the baggage handling system in Terminal 3 of Beijing International Airport, and projects at Wuhan Tianhe and Xi'an Xianyang international airports. SPPAL has its own national company in China, headquartered in Beijing, to ensure optimal customer service and competent local handling of projects.
